125.365 - romance of utility

i had ridden through rain
celebrated finding that motel
nestled in a curve
of a mountain highway
I parked my Harley
checked in
warmed and dried
beside a fire
then gladly slept
woke before dawn
to drumming hooves
horses streamed by
a herd perhaps
more likely a remuda
yes, a cowboy
rode beside them
and then another
moving the horses
to someplace more useful
I smiled down at such work
smiled down at my Harley too
taking me also
someplace more useful
then went back to sleep
