046.365 - a child's job

the boy
sneaked out of his yard
sneaked out of his town
sneaked past the briar
into the land beyond
and so began
a life of poetry
if he had only known
but that’s a child’s job, isn’t it?
to not know and find out
by pushing past
whatever closes him in
