011.365 - seduction by serenity

never, ever, had he felt such peace and quiet
never such calm
soon he must stir enough to write a poem
but for the moment, for several moments
let him revel in the solitude, the stillness
the sweetly unscented ease
let him not think of what there was to do
and who must do it if he couldn’t
he thought the equivalent of a smile
without the bother of stretching or curling lips
he considered opening his eyes but knew
soon as he did, to-dos and shoulds would start
no, just this while he would forgo them
he settled gently into this good rest
